Get Your Data to Go with Custom Mobile Apps from ITS
The
days of databases that can only be accessed in the office
are going the way of fax machines and companies without a
web presence. From our seat as a long-time provider of
custom applications, we’re amazed at how fast we’ve gone
from "Is my data safe if I’m accessing it over the
web/remotely?" to "Is the system you build for us going to
be accessible any time, from anywhere, and on any device?"
At IT Solutions, we’ve always considered it a privilege to
develop unique custom systems that solve client’s data
challenges and contribute to improved workflow or reduced
costs. And now,
with the rapid demand for mobile applications for iPads,
iPhones, and other mobile devices, a whole new level of
challenges and solutions are opening up. Fortunately we’re
equipped to take them on because, as with traditional
desktop and web database development, we’re not tied to a
particular technology platform. This way, we can meet the
client’s need with the solution that fits, not make their
needs fit the solution.

Quick Tip: Stretch Your IT Budget with
These 6 Technology Tips
used with permission from HP Small Business Center
For
small- and medium-sized companies, the difference between a
successful year and a dismal one often comes down to how
well they can stick to the b-word: BUDGET.
Luckily, the
recipe for budgeting success is simple: spend less, while
making more. But there’s a virulent SMB myth that "
especially in a weak economy " the only way to save money is
to forgo buying the new computers, servers, and printers
that your employees need. Not true.
Below are some
simple reasons why investing in technology can actually save
you money over the long term.
1. Understand
the total cost of ownership (TCO)
Many SMB owners suffer from sticker shock when contemplating
the upfront costs of buying new equipment. Unfortunately,
they don’t see how much higher the overall price tag is for
holding onto old, outdated machines when you factor in
maintenance, resale value, and energy consumption.
And, don’t think
that buying cheaper equipment is necessarily better for your
wallet. While consumer PCs and printers may take a smaller
initial bite out of your budget, they don’t offer the same
robustness or security standards that make business
equipment worth every extra penny.

Deleware’s Largest Orthopaedic Center Relies on ITS for Network Support

"The changes we implemented at FSO
have not only improved the performance of our
environment but reduced our overall cost of
ownership."
-
David Blaeuer, Practice Administrator
Background
First State Orthopaedics (FSO) is the largest orthopaedic practice
in the state of Delaware. Comprised of 15 specialty surgeons spread
across their seven office locations, FSO’s multi-office practice
provides patients with highly sophisticated and well-versed
treatment and at the same time conveniently accessible office
locations for patients across the state of Delaware. FSO serves
Christiana and Wilmington Hospitals in addition to most local
ambulatory surgery centers. The practice also provides services to
more than twenty high schools, Goldey-Beacom College, Wilmington
College, and many local recreational and competitive sports leagues.
Challenge
Prior to IT Solutions’ involvement, FSO saw the many
benefits of going paperless and realized the need to move to
an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) environment.
Implementation of the NextGen EMR solution would allow FSO
to access all patient records across their seven locations
while maintaining a high level of confidentiality. The
uptime and speed of the EMR system is crucial to maintain
the large volume of patients who visit each FSO office
daily.
