The Challenge
The employees of Resolute Management were previous ACE employees and until April 2005 were co-located with ACE and shared the ACE network. "We wanted to branch out on our own, get our own space," said Lorraine Minderjhan, senior vice president at Resolute. The firm had to start from scratch, with no office space, no furniture and no telephone or computer infrastructure at any of its four locations.
To reduce any potential lost business hours, Resolute needed to devise a plan to enable its employees to work in the ACE offices on Friday, move over the weekend and be operational in their new locations on Monday.
As employees of ACE, a 4,000 person company, Resolute employees were used to having teams of people on hand to handle these types of logistics, but now the leadership team found itself hiring architects, selecting phone systems, purchasing office furniture and exploring its technical options.
