Overview
Regular updates and security patches for workstations are essential to protect against vulnerabilities and ensure software is kept up to date. Windows Workstation Third-Party Patching automates this process, scheduling and deploying updates outside of peak hours to minimize disruption.
Requirements
- Windows Workstation Third-Party Patching services are available for Total IT or Amplify IT Workplace clients.
- The workstations requiring the Windows based third-party patching services must be monitored and managed by ITS.
- Clients must inform ITS of any applications that must stay at a certain version.
- This service applies third-party patching under ITS standard change approval processes which does not require client approval for implementation.
- The service requires an agent to be installed on each device.
How It Works
Our third-party patch management strategy is designed to minimize disruptions while keeping systems secure and up to date:
- Patch Identification: The library of available software covered under the service can be found here. Please note that only the third-party applications listed at this site are covered by this service. Any application not listed may be available for patching under a separate billable engagement.
- Scheduled Deployment: Patches are scheduled for deployment during off-peak hours or times agreed upon with the client to minimize impact on daily operations. Third-party patches are considered a standard change and will be performed throughout the course of the week.
- Confirmation and Reporting: After deployment, systems are verified to ensure the successful application of patches, with reports made available to the client.
