The next local charity the Smiles for Success initiative will support is ALS Association Greater Philadelphia Chapter.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) aka Lou Gehrig’s Disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons affects voluntary muscle movement, and ALS patients in the later stages may become totally paralyzed.
ALS usually strikes people between the ages of 40 and 70, and at least 16,000 Americans can have the disease at any given time. For unknown reasons, military veterans are approximately twice as likely to be diagnosed with the disease as the general public.
Recent years have brought a wealth of new scientific understanding regarding the physiology of this disease. There are currently four drugs approved by the U.S. FDA to treat ALS, and studies all over the world, many funded by The Association, are ongoing to develop more treatments and a cure for ALS.
By taking just a few seconds of your day to provide valued feedback on our support, you’re now not only helping with the future success of your business, but you’re supporting the local families in this community and around the world who are fighting this debilitating disease.
About Smiles for Success
Over the years, client feedback in the form of ticket survey responses has been a critical factor in helping us improve our services and overall client satisfaction and success. In an effort to keep a strong focus on this feedback and even improve on the overall rate of response, IT Solutions launched Smiles for Success, with a local charity being the beneficiary for every survey response we receive.
